Video released of Cape Coral shooting

Two people were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds and a one-year-old child was found at the scene of a shooting on Pine Island Road in Cape Coral.

When an employee at Creative Imprints Inc. showed up to work on Saturday, he wasn’t sure what he drove up to.

“I pulled up to the office Saturday morning and saw all the blood in the street. I thought it was a car accident,” said the employee, “I say, ‘Hey, can somebody check the cameras see what happened last night?’ And they pulled it up. Probably within five minutes, he found the footage.”

The footage showed a meeting between two people that turned violent when a third seemingly ambushes them, firing gunshots.

The employee from Creative Imprints Inc. said he saw several bloody footprints and spots of blood on an old car that had been sitting in the area. Cape Coral Police found four cars full of people at the scene on Friday, including the two victims with gunshot wounds who were taken to the hospital.

Officers found a one-year-old child in one of the cars and was turned over to their grandmother. WINK News is working to get an update on the victims of the shooting, or whether any arrests have been made.
