A man was seriously hurt Wednesday morning after a shooting in a residential area in Fort Lauderdale.
According to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, it happened at around 11 a.m. in the 1700 block of Northwest 13th Court, in the city’s Lauderdale Manors neighborhood.
Police said that medics took the victim to Broward Health Medical Center with “life-threatening” injuries.
Police said they identified a possible suspect vehicle, found it in North Lauderdale and tried to pull the driver over.
“The vehicle fled and ultimately the driver bailed out of the vehicle and ran into a nearby residence. The driver was taken into custody a short time later without issue,” police said. “At this time, the driver is detained pending further investigation. We are not able to confirm a connection to the shooting at this time as this will become a part of the ongoing investigation.”
