Man shot in buttocks during argument in Northwest Jacksonville, police say

A man was struck in the buttocks by a bullet Thursday night when someone pulled out a handgun and started firing during an argument, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

The shooting was reported around 9 p.m. on Moncrief Road, a couple of blocks southeast of Edgewood Avenue West.

Investigators said the man was involved in an argument when the person he was arguing with pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at him.

He was struck once in his hindside, police said. His injury is considered non-life-threatening.

Investigators said it appears to be an isolated incident and they are checking the area for video surveillance and speaking with witnesses.
