A man who was shot in the head and critically injured Tuesday night near Jacksonville’s Moncrief area was found because of a ShotSpotter alert and 911 call, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office
Police responded to the scene on West 21st Street near Moncrief Road around 9:30 p.m. after receiving a ShotSpotter notification, followed by the 911 call.
The officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the head, and the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department took him to a local hospital in critical condition.
Investigators report that no witnesses have come forward, and the victim’s condition prevents him from communicating with detectives.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information about this shooting to come forward.
