Cape Coral woman killed after crash with semi on Burnt Store Road

A 56-year-old Cape Coral woman is killed in a deadly crash that blocked part of Burnt Store Road near the Lee and Charlotte County line.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol live traffic site, the fatal crash happened near Burnt Store Road and Vincent Avenue. Troopers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 5:24 p.m.

The woman was driving a Ford Sedan and traveling south on Burnt Store Rd. Tuesday night.

The other driver, a 42-year-old man from Hialeah, was driving a semi-truck tractor/trailer heading north, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

According to FHP, the woman lost control of her vehicle with wet road conditions and entered the opposite lane, rotated and traveled into the path of the semi.

The side of the woman’s vehicle hit the front of the semi. FHP said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle and his passenger, a 24-year-old man from Miami, suffered minor injuries.
