One man is facing multiple charges following a hit-and-run on Okaloosa Island Saturday night.
According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, a motorist reported a white Ford F-150 pickup truck hit his vehicle and drove away.
Using FLOCK, a deputy spotted the truck in Destin along Highway 98 and tried to conduct a traffic stop on the driver.
Deputies say the driver failed to yield until stopping in the middle lane of Highway 98 near Indian Bayou Trail.
OCSO says the driver failed to follow commands to get out of the truck and when deputies approached, a young child got out of the back door and walked towards them.
Deputies say driver, 25-year-old LM, was intoxicated.
Deputies also learned he had struck another vehicle in Destin.
M is now charged with DUI, hit and run leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, child neglect, resisting an officer without violence, and resisting an officer fleeing lights and sirens.
We’re told he is currently in in the Okaloosa County jail with a hold for immigration.
