Motorcyclist dies after crash on Maricamp Road in Marion County, FHP says

A motorcyclist died after a crash Saturday afternoon on Maricamp Road in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened around 1:05 p.m. near Locust Place.

Investigators said the motorcycle was traveling westbound in the outside lane on Maricamp Road when it overturned onto its left side and continued westbound before coming to rest in the outside lane.

The 68-year-old driver, an Ocala man, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, troopers said.

According to the report, the driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
