A man is accused of DUI manslaughter after a deadly crash that closed down lanes of Airport Pulling Road in Naples.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened near Longboat Drive and was reported at approximately 7:22 p.m. Tuesday.
FHP said that a motorcycle was traveling south on Airport Pulling Road, and that a pickup truck was traveling north on Airport Pulling Road and made a left turn toward Longboat Drive.
During the left turn, the pickup truck crashed into the right side of the motorcycle, FHP said.
The motorcyclist, a 61-year-old man, sustained critical injuries in the crash and was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the pickup truck was identified as MAF, 33. He was placed under arrest for DUI manslaughter and booked into Collier County Jail.
The crash closed the southbound lanes of Airport Pulling Road south of Golden Gate Parkway, which have since reopened.
FHP said the crash is still under investigation.
