A man was arrested after a vehicle burst into flames at a parking lot on Saturday, according to officers with the Naples Police Department.

NPD says that officers responded to a vehicle fire in the parking lot of 800 Goodlette-Frank Road North. Officers found a white BMW fully engulfed in flames.

A witness told officers that she saw a man pull the car into the parking lot as smoke began coming from the vehicle. The man was seen leaving the area after removing some belongings from the vehicle, according to the witness.

Officers located the man, later identified as G, 26. G reportedly told officers that he had been the one driving the car before it caught on fire.

Officers say that a records check revealed G was not supposed to be driving his vehicle, as his license was suspended as a habitual traffic offender.

G was arrested and faces a charge of driving with a suspended license as a habitual felony offender.
