New sex crime charges were handed down against a fired Palm Beach County middle school substitute teacher who is currently behind bars.
The Palm Beach County School District Police Department charged Corey Pierce, 21, with two counts of sexual battery 12 years of age but less than 18 years and one count of authority figure solicit or engage in lewd conduct with a student.
The new charges were filed by school district police on Friday, April 5.
According to court documents, a judge ordered Pierce to be held on no bond. The Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office requested a pretrial detention hearing and the judge agreed. That hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 10 at 1:30 p.m.
Pierce was arrested on March 29 on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior with a victim less than 16 years of age and for soliciting lewd behavior with a student.
