No injuries after fire consumes porch in Belleview.

Firefighters were dispatched to a home in Belleview on Tuesday morning after a back porch caught on fire.

At around 9:35 a.m., Marion County Fire Rescue units rushed to a home located in the 6800 block of SE 107th Street in Belleview in reference to a residential structure fire. A 911 caller had reported that there was dark smoke near the screened-in back porch, according to MCFR.

Three minutes later, MCFR Belleview Station #19 arrived on scene and observed flames and smoke rising from the home.

Additional MCFR units soon arrived at the residence, and crew members immediately began attacking the flames.

MCFR stated that a “quick interior attack” stopped the flames on the back porch. The exterior of the home sustained minimal damage from the fire.

An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire, according to MCFR.

There were no injuries reported.
