North Captiva house fire victim dies a month after blaze

One of the victims of a North Captiva house fire has died almost a month after the incident.

Sandra Patton, the caregiver of the man whose home caught fire, passed away on Saturday from her injuries.

During the fire, Patton stayed inside with the man she cared for until rescuers could arrive.

The fire happened on Aug. 13 after a golf cart parked close to the home went up in flames.
