A 24-year-old Rockledge man was killed early Monday after his vehicle crashed along Interstate 95 in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 1:05 a.m. near mile marker 204, south of State Road 528, FHP said in an official press release.
Investigators said the man was driving a 2018 Infiniti Q50 southbound in the center lane when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled off the roadway onto the inside paved shoulder and struck a guardrail.
Debris from the crash then struck a second vehicle, a 2026 Volkswagen Taos traveling behind the Infiniti in the same lane, according to FHP.
The Infiniti driver was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. Authorities have not publicly released his name pending notification of family members.
The driver of the Volkswagen, identified by FHP as W, 49, of Palm Coast, and a 4-year-old passenger were not injured in the incident.
Following the crash, W was arrested for DUI and booked into the Brevard County Jail, according to the highway patrol.
The crash remains under investigation by FHP.
