Panama City man killed, another injured in HWY 231 crash

A Panama City man was killed and another man was seriously injured after an early morning crash on Highway 231 in Alford on Monday.

It happened shortly before 7 a.m. on Highway 231 near City Square Road.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old Panama City man was headed southbound on Highway 231 when it collided with the back of another vehicle, before traveling off the roadway and becoming airborne.

Troopers said the car then overturned.

Troopers said the 24-year-old passenger, also from Panama City, died in the crash.

The driver was seriously injured.

The driver of the other car involved was not injured.
