One person has been arrested after a road rage shooting in Alva Tuesday morning.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the back-and-forth between the two vehicles lasted for seven miles along Palm Beach Boulevard (SR-80).
The incident began near Joel Boulevard when the suspect, Cody Brooks Guinn, 28, tried to merge into the victim’s lane, but the victim did not let them. Deputies say both drivers threw items at each other.
Deputies say Guinn then got out of his car and fired at the victim’s car, leaving a bullet hole. Deputies were seen searching the area for shell casings, where it’s believed a single shot was fired at the passenger side door.
The victim was on their way to drop their child off at school when it all began.
Guinn faces charges of shooting into an occupied conveyance.
No injuries were reported.
