Part of Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa will be closed for hours Wednesday due to a fatal pedestrian crash.

The Tampa Police Department said the crash happened in the westbound lanes of Kennedy Boulevard near Armenia Avenue.

Officers said the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No information was given about the person who was killed in the crash.

The westbound lanes of Kennedy Boulevard are closed at Armenia Avenue. The eastbound lanes are partially closed.

Tampa police officers asked drivers to avoid that area.
