A fatal crash in Lee County is under investigation on Wednesday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a deadly crash occurred on US-41, north of Constitution Boulevard at South Tamiami Trail.
FHP said that an unknown vehicle, or possibly two, hit an adult pedestrian on the travel lanes of northbound US-41.
The pedestrian was transported to a hospital, but later pronounced dead, FHP said.
Roadways were blocked for multiple hours following the crash, but have since reopened.
