Pedestrian hit, killed by car on Haverhill Road in Palm Beach County

One person is dead after getting hit by a car in Palm Beach County Sunday night.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, at around 9:15 p.m., a vehicle was traveling northbound on Haverhill Road near Vilma Lane when the driver suddenly noticed a pedestrian crossing the street. The driver was unable to avoid the pedestrian, identified as 48-year-old Werner Sanchez-Gomez, and hit him.

Sanchez-Gomez was pronounced dead at the hospital.
