Pedestrian in Lake City left seriously injured following car crash

Officers in Lake City responded to a car crash Thursday that left one person with serious injuries.

Police officers say the crash occurred near the intersection of Southwest Bascom Norris Drive and Southwest Tomoka Terrace.

Officers said the driver of the car, FDWt, was showing signs of being impaired. W was seen as having glossy eyes and moving lethargically.

Authorities found damage to the 2010 Cadillac CTS that W was driving, including to the front right side and windshield.

The pedestrian injured was treated and sent to the hospital for emergency care.

Lake City police arrested W based on the physical evidence of the crash as well as his behavior. He was booked into the Columbia County Detention Center after being transported to a local hospital.
