Warehouse worker dies after being run over by commercial truck in business parking lot: JSO

A man was killed early Friday morning when he was run over by a large commercial truck in a warehouse parking lot near the Grand Park area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO said the crash was reported around 6:38 a.m. at a business on West 18th Street, and the driver remained at the scene.

According to police, the truck had just dropped off a container at the business and was exiting the lot when the driver made a sharp right turn.

As the truck turned, its rear wheels ran over a warehouse employee — a man in his 60s — who was bent over counting inventory near the exit.

Paramedics rushed the man to the hospital, where he died.

This marks the 92nd traffic fatality in Duval County in 2025.
