According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was killed when he ran into two lanes of northbound I-95 at Linton Boulevard south of the exit ramp in Delray Beach. A semi-truck could not stop in time and hit the pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 58-year-old male from Jacksonville, was taken to Delray Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Two lanes of I-95 northbound at the exit ramp to Linton Boulevard are closed until further notice. FHP traffic homicide investigators are on scene.
Officers responded late Thursday morning and are asking drivers to steer clear of the area if they can and use alternate routes while crews work the scene.
A witness and the truck driver remained on the scene.
The incident was first reported around 11:32 a.m
