The Florida Highway Patrol said the incident happened around 5:25 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Southwest 8th Street just east of Southwest 137th Avenue.

According to FHP, the pickup truck was traveling west on Southwest 8th Street when it collided with the pedestrian who was walking on the roadway.
