Pedestrian struck, killed on State Road 52

A 56-year-old Fort Myers man was killed on Feb. 20 after he was hit by a pickup truck, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The Dodge Ram pickup, driven by a 37-year-old man from Dade City, was traveling west on State Road 52. East of Paradise Pointe Way, the Fort Myers man was walking across the roadway and was struck by the vehicle.

The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital, where he later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
