Pensacola woman, 12-year-old girl hit by vehicle while crossing Escambia County road.

Two pedestrians were hit by a vehicle and seriously injured Saturday night in Escambia County.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on West Fairfield Drive east of South Dakota Street.

Florida Highway Patrol says an SUV struck two pedestrians — a 42-year-old Pensacola woman and a 12-year-old Pensacola girl — who were crossing the roadway in the area. Both were transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV — a 61-year-old Pensacola man — was not injured.
