A 29-year-old Pensacola woman was arrested early Monday morning for hitting and injuring two children with a metal broomstick, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
M is facing charges of aggravated child abuse and resisting arrest. She was booked into Escambia County Jail around 3:15 a.m. and is being held without bond.
The incident happened at the Oakwood Terrace Apartments.
According to the sheriff’s office, M was hitting two children with a metal broomstick when it broke. She then reportedly continued hitting them with the broken broomstick, causing cut wounds to their legs.
EMS responded to the scene along with deputies. The sheriff’s office says the children suffered non life-threatening injuries.
The ages of the children are unknown at this time.
