Person hospitalized after being struck by gunfire in Jacksonville Beach

One person was hospitalized after being struck by gunfire Sunday evening during a reported disturbance in Jacksonville Beach, police said.

Officers responded to 277 Third St. South at Charley’s Cheesesteak at about 6:39 p.m., according to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department. The person was taken to a hospital but was listed as stable.

Another person was detained, but police did not release that person’s name or say whether charges had been filed.

No arrests have been made.

The scene remains contained, and police said there is no threat to the public. The shooting remains under investigation.
