Person hospitalized after two-vehicle crash shuts down Florida Turnpike South

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — One person was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash that closed all lanes on Florida Turnpike South, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) says.

PBCFR responded to a car crash on the Florida Turnpike South on Sunday at around 2:20 p.m.

The crash happened near Mile Marker 90 just a few miles before Boynton Beach Boulevard.

PBCFR said the crash required crews to use the jaws of life to remove the person from the vehicle.

The crash also caused Florida 511 to put out a tweet letting travelers know that traffic was backed up to Exit 93 near Lake Worth Road. Florida 511 traffic cams showed cars backed up to Exit 93 which is near Lake Worth Road.
