Person suffers life-threatening injuries after fire in Boca Raton

One person is in the hospital due to a fire in Boca Raton Tuesday night. 

The Boca Raton Police Department (BRPD) said at 7 p.m. officers were called in to assist Boca Raton Fire Rescue (BRFR) while firefighters investigated a fire alarm that went off at 500 SE 5th Avenue.

Police did not disclose the severity of the fire but did say one person was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.  

The BRPD said officers remain at the scene as an investigation is underway.
