Pizza delivery man shot dead in West Palm Beach

A Domino’s pizza delivery man was fatally shot in West Palm Beach Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

West Palm Beach Police said dispatch received a 911 call at 12:50 p.m. reporting a shooting in the vicinity of 9th Street and Douglass Avenue. Officers arrived on scene to find a man lying in the road suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, Tommie Anderson, 33, was transported by the West Palm Beach Fire Department to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the deliveryman had just completed a pizza delivery to a birthday party when an altercation occurred outside, leading to the shooting. Police do not believe the party and the shooting are connected.

Police said the deliveryman was from Riviera Beach.

Detectives recovered shell casings from the scene, and the investigation is active. The motive for the shooting is unclear.
