A Plantation man was killed after bypassing a construction zone, hitting a concrete median, and crashing into oncoming traffic.
According to detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit, the crash happened Wednesday at 10:14 p.m. in the area of 4600 Peters Road in Plantation.
Detectives say 45-year-old D R was driving a 2003 Honda Accord westbound on Peters Road approaching a construction zone near the intersection of Southwest 46th Ave.
As he approached, BSO says R aggressively maneuvered around traffic, warning signs, and vehicles, speeding west through the intersection.
“While speeding through the intersection, he failed to notice a concrete median, which he struck, launching his vehicle head-on into a Dodge Ram 2500, according to reports.
Paramedics transported R to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The pickup driver was treated for his injuries at the scene.
