Several people were injured after a violent crash on the Palmetto Expressway.
It happened Saturday night in the westbound lanes of SR-826 near Northwest 37th Avenue.
According to police, a black Ford coupe collided with a black Nissan sedan, which caused the Ford to collide with a concrete barrier.
Police said the driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries but two female passengers had to be rushed by helicopter to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the crash remains open and active.
