Police investigating shooting at Orange Park Athletic Association that left boy seriously injured

The Orange Park Police Department said it is investigating a shooting at a park that left a boy seriously injured on Tuesday.

The Town of Orange Park shared an alert around noon that said there was a heavy law enforcement presence in the area of Gano Avenue and Fromhart Street, and officers and detectives were investigating.

Clay County Fire Rescue said it took one person to a hospital with serious injuries from 1085 Fromhart St., the address for Orange Park Athletic Association.

Police later confirmed the injured was a juvenile male.

Police said the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.

Police said all of the people involved are in custody and speaking to detectives.
