Citrus County Fire Rescue battled a large RV fire in Inverness last Friday, the department said.
At around 2:45 p.m., units were dispatched to E Mars Street in response to a large RV fire that was threatening nearby buildings.
Crews arrived to find the 2005 Tiffin Allegro Bay engulfed in flames, and quickly worked to extinguish the blaze. They were assisted by units from Hernando County and Floral City, CCFR said.
No injuries were reported, and firefighters successfully prevented the fire from spreading any further. The RV was declared a total loss, valued at around $32,500, including the contents inside.
CCFR determined the fire was started by a mechanical failure in the engine compartment, and reminded RV owners to always carry a fire extinguisher and perform regular maintenance on their vehicles.
