Seafood-hauling semi catches fire on I-95, closing interstate in Volusia.

A semitrailer hauling seafood caught fire Tuesday morning on Interstate 95 in Florida, causing officials to close the roadway, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The tractor-trailer became engulfed in flames around 5:45 a.m. on I-95 north in Volusia County near Indian River Boulevard in Edgewater.

The big rig driver, a 39-year-old Palm Bay man, was not injured and remained at the scene, according to the FHP.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Northbound I-95 was closed in the area, but some lanes were later reopened, allowing traffic to get by slowly.
