Two lanes on Interstate 595 were closed Tuesday morning after a semi-truck lost control and spilled fuel on the roadway, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The semi-truck lost control while going eastbound on the wet roadway, just east of Florida’s Turnpike, and jackknifed, FHP said.
No one was hurt, but about 100 gallons of fuel spilled onto the right shoulder due to a ruptured fuel tank.
Two right lanes were blocked along with the exit ramp for State Road 84-Marina Mile Boulevard.
“Tow trucks and cleanup crews are en route,” authorities said, and a long-term maintenance-of-traffic alert was activated.
It was not immediately clear how long lanes would be closed.
