Teen, 2 others shot during confrontation at Jacksonville apartment complex: JSO

Three people were shot, including a teen, following a confrontation Sunday night at an apartment complex in the Hillcrest neighborhood on the city’s Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO said the victims were walking through an apartment complex on Labelle Street around 11 p.m. when they were confronted by several unknown people.

During the confrontation, at least two suspects began shooting, JSO said. The victims said they could not provide a suspect description.

JSO said the teen was shot in the back and is expected to recover. The two other victims were taken to a local hospital in private vehicles and are also expected to recover.

JSO said that Crime Scene Unit Detectives were processing the crime scene early Monday morning. Violent Crime Detectives responded and are actively canvassing for witnesses and video.
