A Wildwood teen was arrested for battery after allegedly throwing a remote at a LifeStream employee who denied her chips.
An officer responded to a battery at LifeStream, 2020 Tally Rd., around 11:25 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Dispatch advised that a patient, 19-year-old S, struck an employee with a remote.
The employee explained that S walked up to the nursing station and asked for a bag of Chex Mix. When told snack time was over, she started grabbing nearby items and threw them around the room. The employee called for help from other nursing staff, and S threw a black remote at her. It struck the outside of her left hand as she tried to block it, the report said, S later told law enforcement that she was supposed to leave LifeStream that day, but staff told her it would not be until the next day. She then asked for a bag of chips and was denied. She responded by throwing things across the room until she saw the remote on a table and threw it at the employee, the report said.
The Arizona native was arrested on Saturday for battery on law enforcement officer, firefighter, EMT, etc. She was booked at the Lake County Jail with bond set at $10,000.
