Train Crash in Bay County

Update 7:20 a.m.–FHP says that the train tracks were cleared at 6:15 a.m., and there was minimal damage to the train.

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has confirmed with NewsChannel 7 that a semi-truck and a Bayline train have been involved in a crash Monday morning in Bay County.

It happened at the intersection of SR 20 and Highway 231. Troopers say it doesn’t appear there are any injuries, but traffic in the area is backed up.

FHP says the train was traveling south. The semi-truck was traveling west, had stopped at a light and was still on the tracks when the train came by, which caused the crash. They are working to move the train from the tracks at this time. NewsChannel 7 will continue to update you as details become available.
