Two vehicles hit woman walking on roadway in Gainesville

Officers confirmed a woman was hit and killed while walking along a roadway in Northwest Gainesville on Sunday.

Gainesville Police Department officers say a woman was walking in the travel lane of Northwest 16th Avenue, near 34th Street, when a car headed east struck her. She was then hit again by a pickup truck.

The 39-year-old woman died at the scene.

Officers are investigating the circumstances of the wreck.
