A 40-year-old man from Ave Maria is dead and two other people are injured following a vehicle crash on State Road 29, north of I-75 in Collier County, early Saturday morning.
According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, a Chevy Silverado driven by the 40-year-old man was traveling north on SR-29. A Ford Fusion driven by a 21-year-old from Felda with a 59-year-old from Washington in the passenger seat was traveling south on SR-29.
FHP says the Chevy entered the southbound travel lane and the two cars collided. The 40-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver and passenger of the Ford Fusion suffered non-incapacitating injuries, FHP says.
Troopers say the crash remains under investigation.
