Vehicle goes up in flames, explodes in I-4 east express lanes.

A car traveling east in the Interstate 4 express lanes went up in flames and exploded on Monday afternoon.

The express lanes near the turnpike were closed for some time as officials worked to put out the dangerous fire. Now, the left lane remains closed as the scene continues to be cleared.

Traffic on I-4 east outside of the express lanes was not impacted and all lanes continue to operate as normal.

It is not clear how the fire started or if anyone was injured. WESH 2 has reached out to officials for more information on the fire.

This is a developing story.
