VIDEO: Pursuit in Fort Walton Beach ends in rollover crash

A man is in custody after a pursuit and crash in Fort Walton Beach Tuesday afternoon.

According to Fort Walton Beach Police, officers received a call of a possible active shooter at Thai Spice on Highway 98 and Miracle Strip Pkwy.

When an officer arrived, the suspect, 36-year-old Charles Emerson, took off in a pickup truck and a pursuit began.

Police say Emerson rammed a sheriff’s office vehicle on Beal Parkway before crashing in the parking lot near Kohl’s and Hardee’s.

Emerson was then arrested.

An investigation is ongoing.

No further details have been released, including charges.
