A West Palm Beach man was being held without bond Friday after deputies said he forced his way into a home and attacked two women, including a terminally ill hospice patient.
B was arrested Thursday night on charges of home invasion robbery without a firearm or weapon, abuse of an elderly or disabled adult, two counts of tampering with a witness or victim, battery by strangulation and misdemeanor battery, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
Deputies responded shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday to a home near North Federal Highway after receiving a report that a man was assaulting people inside, the report said.
Investigators said B arrived uninvited, took cellphones from the women and kicked in two bedroom doors. One woman told deputies B threw her to the floor, leaving her with a cut above her eye, while the other said he threw her against a wall, pulled her by the hair and stomped on her while she was on the ground.
The report said one of the women, who has terminal cancer and is receiving at-home hospice care, told deputies B knew about her medical condition. She told investigators he punched her several times and that she was sore in her head, scalp and torso.
The other woman told deputies B wrapped a hookah cord around her neck and then squeezed her neck with both hands, leaving her unable to breathe for several seconds, according to the report.
B was taken into custody outside the home.
