Collier County deputies arrested a woman who they say ran into a pond in an attempt to escape after a car chase along Rattlesnake Hammock Road.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, on July 13, deputies were in pursuit of a driver, identified as E, on Rattlesnake Hammock Road. Deputies said E refused to pull over and led them on a car chase.

Following the chase, video shows E stop her car, jump out of the driver’s seat, and run straight into a pond, CCSO said.

Despite her aquatic escape attempt, deputies were able to track down E and arrest her.

E faces charges of fleeing/eluding law enforcement officers and resisting arrest.
