A 29-year-old woman was behind bars on Monday after police officers accused her of hitting her co-worker in the head with a bottle in Miami’s Allapattah neighborhood, records show.
P got into an argument with her co-worker about “serving alcoholic beverages to customers” at about 3:40 a.m. on July 18 at Guembos, at 2055 NW 22nd Ave., according to police.
P “grabbed a glass alcohol bottle and hit the victim on the forehead, which caused the victim to suffer a laceration to the right side of the forehead, lose consciousness, and fall to the floor,” a Miami police officer wrote, according to an arrest report.
A man took the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she underwent several stitches on the right side of her forehead, according to the arrest report.
The victim reported the July 18 attack on Aug. 6 to police and said she had worked with P from Wednesday to Saturday since February.
Police officers arrested P shortly after 11:15 a.m. on Friday at an apartment building in Miami’s Little Havana, according to the report.
Miami-Dade corrections booked P shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Friday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to inmate records.
P faced a charge of aggravated battery with great bodily harm, a second-degree felony, according to Miami-Dade court records.
P, who was born in Cuba, was denied bond on a hold by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, records show.
