Woman killed in one-car crash in Bradenton

A Bradenton woman was killed early Friday when her car hit a tree on Ninth Street East, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Investigators say the 38-year-old woman was driving alone in a Honda Civic around midnight, heading south on Ninth Street East, just south of 50th Avenue Drive East.

The car veered left, over the median curb and hit an oak tree in the center median.

EMS responded but the driver died at the scene, troopers said.

The FHP Homicide Unit investigation is continuing.
