A woman walking along a street in West Garden Grove was fatally struck by a car Tuesday night.
According to GGPD Traffic Investigator John Yergler, the victim was a 59-year-old female transient whose last known address was Garden Grove.
At around 10:26 p.m. police responded to a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident. The incident was in the 11800 block of Valley View Street (north of Chapman Avenue) and found an unresponsive woman in the street.
Orange County Fire Authority paramedics arrived but the patient was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved was a 28-year-old Anaheim woman. Alcohol or drugs are not considered factors in the collision, but results are pending from the Orange County Crime Lab.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
