JUPITER, Florida – In a harrowing incident at the Harbourside Place shopping center, one person has tragically lost their life, while four others sustained injuries following an electrocution accident.
The ordeal began when the Jupiter Police Department and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue received a distress call concerning a child in the fountain at approximately 3:30 p.m. on a Sunday, as reported by WPBF. Bystanders reportedly attempted to assist the child before the potential electric shock occurred in the water.
The distressing incident resulted in eight individuals being assessed for injuries, according to WPBF. Out of these, three individuals declined medical treatment, two adults were transported to nearby hospitals, and three children were admitted to trauma centers.
In a Facebook news release, the Jupiter Police Department confirmed that “five individuals were injured and were transported to local hospitals.” Tragically, one of the adult victims was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The other adult victim has since been released from the Jupiter Medical Center, while the three children are currently in recovery at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
