An investigation is underway in Pompano Beach after a shooting left one person dead, authorities said.
Broward Sheriff’s Office and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue units arrived at the scene of the incident in the area of the 11000 block of Northeast 10th Street, Thursday afternoon.
According to fire rescue, once crews found the male victim, he was transported to Broward Health North, where he succumbed to their injuries.
Investigators have not released the victim’s name or age.
Another male victim was taken to the hospital in a private car. His condition is unknown.
Cellphone video shared by a neighbor shows a body on the side of the street srrounded by deputies.
A neighbor reacted to what occurred outside the residential area.
“I’m scared. I was scared. I feel pain in my belly, so I was looking for a bathroom. I was scared, but later another person was talking with the police. He said ‘Somebody passed, shoot,’ and he goes…” she said.
She added that she was distressed as she drove by the man on the ground.
Another neighbor told 7News that they heard two shots.
Deputies have neither released a description of a subject nor details on what led to this shooting.
