One person died and two others were injured after a semi truck drove into a group of people outside of a Tampa gentlemen’s club on Tuesday.
Witnesses said the driver was kicked out of Emperors, located on Adamo Drive, according to Tampa police.
“When that person exited the club, he accelerated his vehicle toward a group of people killing one innocent bystander and seriously injuring two others,” Tampa police Major Patrick Messmer said.
The truck also collided with the building.
A man was killed and two others were hurt, but they are expected to survive their injuries. The driver is hospitalized in critical condition and will be charged in connection to the incident.
“This is an unbelievably tragic and completely avoidable incident,” Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said in a statement. “We will work to get justice for the victims and their families. We are thinking of all those impacted including the innocent bystanders who witnessed this horrific ordeal.”
